Who we are

 

Julie Dolman

Julie trained at Pinderfields College of Physiotherapy and qualified in 1991. She obtained a Post Graduate Certificate In Manipulation from Sheffield Hallam University in 1999. She has worked across several NHS sites including Wakefield, Pontefract and Hull. 
 
Her special interest is in back pain and she has worked closely with a spinal surgeon for several years gaining invaluable experience. 
Julie also provides Occupational Health on-site physiotherapy to a local business. She is skilled in understanding the impact that musculoskeletal conditions can have on work tasks and how to minimise these.  

Joanne Mercer

Jo trained at the Bradford School of Physiotherapy, graduating in 1994. With over 31 years of experience within the NHS, she has developed extensive expertise in assessing and treating musculoskeletal injuries in the NHS and private work. Jo’s areas of specialisation include the assessment and management of back pain and upper limb conditions, particularly the shoulder joint. In addition, Jo is skilled in using acupuncture for pain management. As a dedicated member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP), Jo also serves as the clinical lead for acupuncture treatments within the clinic.

 

What we do
At Fairway Physiotherapy Clinic we pride ourselves in delivering high quality patient care which is specific and tailored to each individual.  
Fairway Physiotherapy Clinic was founded in 1999 in Normanton.  As the clinic expanded, we moved to Featherstone and Rothwell.  We are now centralised within Rothwell Sports Centre. Our location provides easy access for travel from the areas of Pontefract, Castleford, Normanton, Wakefield and Leeds. 
We provide high quality treatment for a variety of musculoskeletal conditions to obtain the best possible outcome. This is achieved with a thorough assessment of your problem, setting agreed treatment goals and delivering a treatment programme that may include manual therapy, soft tissue mobilisation, ergonomic advice, acupuncture, electrotherapy and progressive exercises.  
Common conditions that will benefit from physiotherapy include back/neck pain, sports injuries, muscle/ligament strains, osteoarthritis and post-operative rehabilitation

All our physiotherapists are trained to degree level and are Chartered and registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). We are registered with major Health Insurance Companies including BUPA and AXA Health.

appOINTMENTS
Flexible appointments are available during the day and on an evening. 
It is not necessary to see a GP before commencing physiotherapy although we do welcome referrals from your GP or Consultant. 
Where we are
Fairway Physiotherapy clinic is located within Rothwell Sports Centre just off Wakefield Road, Oulton, 1 minute from Junction 30 of the M62. 
There is ample free parking available on site and disabled access.
